Each year the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) in collaboration with the
International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), and the Institute International Space Law
(IISL) organize the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). Each year, the IAC
changes country, theme and local organizer, enabling all to learn more about, and be a
part of the world space scene. In recent years the event has attracted more than 3,500
registered participants, and about 5,000 people involved in different activities taking place
before and during the IAC.
The host this year will be the Mexican Space Agency. This important event will take place
in Guadalajara, Mexico with the presence of more than 70 countries, representing an
opportunity for business in aerospace industry development.
This is an international event that will bring together each year the space sector. The core
of the event is a set of technical sessions where is presented in 5 major areas covering
virtually all fields of space topic:
A) Science and Exploration
B) Applications and Operations
C) Technology
D) Infrastructure
E) Space and Society
Participation focuses on the presentation of scientific articles, which average around more
than 2,000. Additionally, there are plenary lectures, exhibition area and a large number of
events and associated activities.
